Schools play an immense role in transmitting knowledge to students so that they have a basic understanding of the information and skills they require to progress. Education aims to prepare children to be active, responsible, productive, and caring members of society along with being active learners. School is the basic foundation of knowledge that a child receives. It provides children with the opportunity to learn about people, literature and various other necessary subjects.

At Durgapur Public School, Raiganj, we assist young minds in developing and managing their physical and emotional well-being, as well as living and working with others in a variety of contexts. In addition to this, the well trained faculties of the school plays a crucial role to preserve the valuable culture, tradition, and values of the society, and thus aiding in their promotion and development.

Earlier, schools were considered as places to learn events in history or solve tough mathematical problems or recite poems and sonnets. Keeping in mind the demand of the current educational structure and introduction of NEP 2020, we at DPS, Raiganj promote the child to learn and go beyond the traditional way of rote learning. They are taught to develop a mind of their own and through the flexible curriculum, curiosity is promoted. The child is freed from the shackles of mental blocks and lets his/her imagination run its course. Importance of imagination is stressed upon extensively. Play en actions and an encompassing curriculum lead to a well-developed cognitive system.

Life is also about learning, apart from living. While we can learn to a certain extent from our parents, they tend to be unilateral. At Durgapur Public School, Raiganj, children are exposed to various sources from which they can imbibe immense knowledge, instrumental for their development. Hence school is necessary for children to inculcate the workings of life. Education forms the foundation of any society. It is responsible for the economic, social, and political growth and development of society in general. The thread of the growth of society depends upon the quality of education that is being imparted.
